Hook A Cure Fishing Tournament

Hook A Cure Fishing Tournament
August 17, 2018
Mile Marker One - Cape Ann Marina
Gloucester, MA

We have a division for all skill and experience levels!  From chasing Striped Bass and Bluefish with our Angler and Shore packages, to reeling in whatever’s biting with family and friends on The Lady Sea!

The tournament will be followed by a cocktail reception at the Marina Pavilion Tent with a wonderful seaside buffet.  Enjoy a day on the water, catch some fish, make great memories and help us fund Dana-Farber’s research in our quest to obliviate cancer in our lifetimes!

When cancer crept in and took my husband Russell’s life in 2013, family and friends banded together and formed The Friends of Scrawney-Morgan Foundation to help fight this scourge in any way possible.

My husband was most contented when he was fishing. From the joys of grabbing a rod and casting a lure to the excitement of catch and release, nothing made him happier than taking kids and families out for their first fishing experiences; all the while learning to love and respect life on the water!

So while we may not be able to work in a lab or create a clinical trial, we do know how to ride bikes, walk miles and catch fish to aid in this battle!

With this tournament, our mission is to have fun while inspiring philanthropy by offering a day of multi-level fishing for experts and families alike to ultimately raise funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and to introduce another generation to this wonderful location we call home!  -  Pat
